Ouarzazate

Ouarzazate sits at the edge of the Sahara, where the Atlas Mountains give way to vast stony plains and sand. Known as the 'Hollywood of Africa', its Atlas Studios have hosted productions from Lawrence of Arabia to Gladiator. The kasbahs of Ouarzazate — Taourirt, Ait Benhaddou, and the Skoura palms — are among the most photographed in Morocco. Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rises from the riverbank like a mirage, its earthen towers catching the light at golden hour.
